This soulful Leonard Cohen song has been done many times and in many beautiful ways. This rendition has been released upon request from two very, very dear people in my life -both of them don't know of each other and both of them requested it for very different reasons.

I hadn't felt the spirit to record it up until a peculiar thing happened. These two individuals from two completely different worlds requested this song within the same week.

One for a birthday celebration and the other from mourning the loss of her son to suicide.

So thus begun the process of sharing this piece with my original verse to add the storyline.

How extraordinary that this song can stretch itself and bring about such extreme moments of gut-wrenching despair and also a euphoric, prayerful rising, celebratory moment in one's life.

May you each find what you need in this rendition.
