The album itself is just an array of various songs but I felt like titling "Hypnotized By Youth" for this one song I wrote during my birthday and the idea of getting old. I didn't start the game when I was young and I wondered if our culture was and is hypnotized by youth and what is old? And do the old remain to be nullified? Does everyone get the same chance or when you reach a particular age do you feel dismissed from opportunities? Do you feel like it's too late to try? Please do share your thoughts if the spirit moves you.
Just a thought to ponder.
Much love, strength and bravery to all of you. Thank you for stopping by to browse or download.
With warmth and spice,
Rivky
lyrics
Ah, I didn't start the game when I was young
Ah, and everything and everyone is young and fun and fun is young
And young is glorified. Mhmm.
Ah, yes I'm counting up the days that all have gone
Ah, and everything and everyone I know is old but old is bolder
But old is nullified. Mhmm.
No walking cane to ease my pain
Upon the stairs, to get up on this (fucken) funky stage
And play the music today. Mhmm.
Ah, I didn't start the game when I was young
Oo oo, ah, and everything and everyone was fun
Oo oo, ah, I didn't start the game when I was young
oo, oo, oooh.
And I'm petrified, horrified, yet
Hypnotized by youth.
Ah, well they came across the city lines in crowds
Ah, from New Orleans to Wichita and here in New York City
This city state of mine, Mhmm.
All wrinkle free with energy and time to spare
With dancing shoes to get up on their funky feet
And hear the music today, Mhmm.
Ah, I didn't start the game when I was young
Oo, oo, ah, and everything and everyone was fun
Oo, ooh, ah, I didn't start the game when I was young
Oo, oo, ooh
And I'm petrified, horrified, yet
Hypnotized by youth.
And after all that's sad and done
You'll get old like all of us
But we still glorify
Magnify, we're still hypnotized
(She said hypnotized!) Hypnotized!
(Hypnotized!) Electrified!
(Mesmerized!) Mesmerized by youth!
Ah, I didn't start the game when I was young
Oo, oo, ah, and everything and everyone was fun
Oo, ooh, ah, I didn't start the game when I was young
Oo, oo, ooh
And I'm petrified, horrified, yet
Hypnotized by youth.
Ah, I didn't start the game when I was young
But that doesn't mean I can't have fun...
